Sad Day :-(

Hello Gorgeous Lovers (and non-lovers, because I know you’re reading, too!)…

I am sad to say that my Facebook page has been disabled today, due to people repeatedly reporting my images as inappropriate.

You all know how I feel about this, so this message is simply to say that I cannot be contacted through FB at this moment!

Fortunately, businesses survived before Facebook, and so will Hello Gorgeous!:-)

Aubrie xo

Seriously?!?! I wondered what was going on! Hang in there…

Anna Marie - March 7, 2011 - 9:00 am

This is absolutely ridiculous!! They let Maxim and VS and Playboy have a page but not you…insane!! Your work is beautiful and if people don’t like it then they just shouldn’t go to the page!! So sorry to hear this :( Let me know if you think writing to FB or anything would make a difference and I’ll totally do it!

KennyKo - March 7, 2011 - 1:01 pm

jason rash - March 7, 2011 - 1:02 pm

Brandon Smith - March 7, 2011 - 1:16 pm

sorry to hear about your page Aubrie.. Best wishes!!!!

Jenna - March 7, 2011 - 1:25 pm

This is insane! Your pictures we’re extremely classy! Unlike the person who reported the pictures… People are pretty silly if they think Facebook is going to bring a business down! Good luck!

Denise - March 7, 2011 - 1:32 pm

What a pain in the kisser! Your work is great and I have never found anything offensive about any of the photos, AND I am typically pretty conservative. You have a good attitude about it though. FB is not the “end all, be all” of the business world so don’t let it get you down too much. I am visualizing a few frightening and possibly hilarious scenarios behind all of this. Lets just say I don’t think any of the ones doing the reporting would be much to (**cough cough look at cough cough**) worry about IRL.

Bridget (the Ninja) Gibson - March 7, 2011 - 1:36 pm

Keep fighting the good fight, Lemonade! Remember, at the core of this, you are fighting for the right of women to be proud of their bodies, regardless of size or shape. You are an amazing photographer! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

Marissa Yi - March 7, 2011 - 2:24 pm

Not only is your work NOT inappropriate, there are thousands of teenage girls and women posting pictures of themselves bent over in nothing but their underwear. Your work is professional, classy, and highly regarded by those who are NOT envious of you and appreciate you as a person and an artist. And make no mistake, this is not about “appropriateness”; it is about being a jealous and insecure. How about not going to pages or websites where you know you’re going to offended instead of trying to be the internet police! Aubrie, you are wonderful, your work is wonderful! xoxo ~ Marissa

This is getting out of hand. Fridays will not be the same until this is resolved. Good luck and keep it going.

SUMETRI MARTIN - March 7, 2011 - 6:59 pm

That’s awful! Your work is fabulous, inspiring, and empowering. It is easy to see the joy and confidence you bring to your gorgeous ladies. I’ve been raving about you without even having a session. Muah love you for what you do!

Latoya Bell - March 7, 2011 - 8:53 pm

That sucks! I get on your page everyday just to see what’s new. What you do is art and there is nothing inappropriate about it. I’m looking at myself on the wall now and see nothing but beauty! Those that are reporting you are just jealous!

Cassie Pierce - March 7, 2011 - 9:11 pm

Hey pretty girl, Alan told me about the facebook deal. People need to lay off the haterade. The logical thing to do would be not to look at the pictures if you don’t like them. Folks are crazy these days; don’t let the haters bum you out. Everybody that matters already knows that your pictures are the best EVER, keep em coming!

April Allen - March 8, 2011 - 7:46 am

That is sooooo rediculous! People need to get a life! :(

Rebekah - March 8, 2011 - 10:21 am

Keep your head up high girlie!

That’s just silly. Jealousy never works the way you want it too. Ya know us women need to support each others beauty skin deep on a level of confidence without ego! Ego has judgement. Strength and Love have courage mixed with wisdom. ” In order to be irreplaceable one most always be different”-Coco Chanel…..This statement is skin deep just like beauty is unique and should be shown in a raw expressive aesthetic ray of art. Which is true wisdom of a woman’s own heart!! Audrie you’ve done this by your supporting the capture of strong lines of that shape curves that draw each woman’s heart! God bless you!

Jennifer - March 8, 2011 - 11:21 am

Aubrie,
Keep your chin up girl. You will be just fine. Not only are you gorgeous yourself, but your work, talent, style and vision is absolutely amazing. I loved seeing all the pictures of normal women who are absolutely beautiful. Your work is tasteful and I’m sure if there were some that needed to be discreet, you kept them discreet. I can’t say that they helped my self esteem a whole lot =p lol, but after having a child, it was definitely motivating me to be healthy and try and get in shape for both my husband and my daughter. I’d love to do a session myself once I get comfortable enough to bare this mom body. I’m sure you will be too expensive by then, with all your professional magazines just waiting to scoop you up. Anyway, Just start another facebook page and instead of posting the pics, just put a link to your website with “Website Updated!” with maybe a head shot or a blurred image with your logo. I can’t believe someone did this. I’ve seen a lot worse on FB! It comes from jealously!

Vicki Hammond - March 8, 2011 - 2:33 pm

Aubrie,

I am honestly so upset that your fb page was deactivated. I cannot imagine how anyone could report your pictures unappropriate. If they only knew what your photos were really about… I cannot tell you and everyone enough times what the experience meant to me and it was and still is a life changing moment. You are so talented not only behind and in front of the camera but also very talented in making someone feel like they did 10, 15 or even 20 years ago just by spending a few hours in front of the camera with you behind it… I am in utter shock that anyone could even say those photos are not appropriate and they allow others post things they do…I… I am so sorry… thats ok though… I will keep your blog going on fb by posting http://www.hellogorgeousphotography.com on my status daily….
Hope everyone else does the same :)

Nicole - March 12, 2011 - 11:11 am
